Promoting Healthy Snack Options in Our School

A student leadership team from 5th and 6th grade met to discuss snacking at our school. They identified unhealthy snacks and healthier alternatives. They then drew healthy snacks on a poster and made them as appetizing as they could, attempting to entice fellow students to try them instead of the normal snacking options at our school. The team worked together to create the material on the posters and collaborated on the art work as well.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The students collaborated together and I, as the P.E. teacher, facilitated the conversations. They worked together to come up with ideas for snacks then displayed those ideas on the poster.
