Pullman Elementary Continues Healthy Programs
Pullman Elementary has had a great deal of success in the area of Fuel Up to Play 60 this school year. We have continued our before-school run/walk for 15 minutes five days a week. We have also continued our after-school mileage club on Wednesdays in April with about 80 students participating. This is the second year we have had a school Fun Run with awards for all grade level. Along with all the physical activity, we have given lessons in healthy eating. After Mileage Club, students were offered healthy snacks, such as apples, oranges and raisins/Craisins. Water was also offered as an alternative to sugary sports drinks. The FUTP 60 Student Team handed out samples and surveyed students about new hot breakfast items. Students were able to try two new hot breakfast foods so the Food Service Director could offer foods students enjoy. Pullman Elementary will continue these program to help students make healthy choices and live a healthy lifestyle.
