Quinoa Taste Test

This month we held a quinoa taste test. We offered quinoa made in three different ways: breakfast bar, salad, and pudding. This is all made possible by the students advocating for new whole grains to be added to the menu and creating recipes that are simple and easy to make. All 485 students tasted the new items and voted to add them to the menu.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We hope to keep this going by providing taste tests every month. It's a great opportunity to allow students to advocate for healthy food items they might not have access to. Allowing them to taste and vote to keep it is a way the students are able to voice their opinions and not just impose something on them.
