Rainbow of Flavors

During the parent/guardian conferences, we had "Rainbow of Flavors" for food tasting in the cafeteria. For each color of the rainbow, there was a fruit and a vegetable for each visitor to try. There was also an opportunity to build their own smoothies.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

The challenge was to get the students to taste new or strange food. To overcome this, I had a picture of a rainbow and as they tried the food that matched the colors of the rainbow, they colored it in. Before they knew it, they had completed coloring the rainbow! Those that completed the rainbow got a prize (supplied by FUTP 60). The smoothie bike was easier. It was a fun thing to do. The kids created their own recipes and pedaled to health!
