At our school, we purchased equipment for students to use at recess. This equipment, which was purchased with our Fuel Up to Play 60 grant funds, includes various balls, jump ropes, hula hoops and other playground equipment. The students use the equipment as they were trained to use in Physical Education class. The students' enjoyment levels have increased, which in turn has further developed their skill level. Along with their daily cardiovascular exercise during recess, each student has been able to improve their activity and enjoyment of fitness and play.

The students were given a choice of the activity in which they would participate.
How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?
We will continue to emphasize the importance of activity and to chose different activities.
What improvements have you seen at your school?
Students are getting more enjoyment out of recess. The students' behavior during recess has improved.
