Access to Healthy Foods

RG Eversole implemented Breakfast in the Classroom as part of our Fuel Up to Play 60 program during the 2015-2016 SY. With support from our FUTP 60 grant, we purchased FUTP 60 Cooler Bags for all classrooms. Now, students can enjoy breakfast every morning at their desk while participating in the morning updates and beginning of day class activities. Our breakfast participation has increased significantly.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Implementing Breakfast in the Classroom required teamwork from the school administrators, teachers, nutrition staff and students. After getting the support of all those involved, we launched our program. It has worked out very well.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

The support and results from the Breakfast in the Classroom initiative has been great. We have the equipment and support to continue for the 2016-2017 school year.
