Robert E. Lee is located in South Texas in an awesome city named Edinburg. I am Coach Ledesma and I work with a female whose name is Coach Fuentes. I started a flag football program and that year we placed 1st of 31 Elementary Schools. Last year we placed 3rd, and this year we placed 2nd. Being that Lee hadn't had any teams before, it was a big accomplishment to place in the top 3 teams in my 3 years coaching. Other than flag football, we also have students participating in basketball, baseball, and volleyball. Coach Fuentes coached the female students in basketball and volleyball, where they had good seasons as well. We are also trying to start a Fitness Club where students will be staying after school at least 2 days of the week for about an hour and they will be working on basic fundamental skills of many sports.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

We are always communicating and always working together to better enhance the education and better their lives in and out of the classroom. I was very pleased to see how the communications level worked out very well for everyone.

How did you accomplish your goals?

Our goals were accomplished as soon as these students showed up to the first day of practice. It takes a lot for a player to step out on the field if they have never done that before in their lives.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

I plan on keeping students working hard since we are trying to start a fitness club here at Robert E. Lee. The fitness club will pertain to all students interested. There we will work on all basic skills and fundamentals for many sports.
