We are lucky to be one of the few elementary schools that has a salad bar with our hot lunch provider. A few changes/additions has students filling their trays with more fresh produce!

Our SLT has meet with our lunch server and director to better understand the fresh produce choices available seasonally.
How did you accomplish your goals?
More new choices are making their way to our salad bar and our SLT is making promotional posters to draw attention to the options like spinach, dried cherries, hummus, and vinaigrette dressing.
What improvements have you seen at your school?
Our SLT also learned that students load their tray with fresh produce when the salad bar is positioned first before getting their main entry. Our lunch server worked with us to make that move and we believe it is paying off as well!
