Clough school has a successful garden that not only educates our students on where food comes from and tasting fresh vegetables, but also encourages families and community members to help water and weed the garden during the summer. Vegetables harvested during the summer months are brought to our Senior Center and shared with our community.
How did students and adults work together as a team?
All students and teachers plant vegetable seeds in class and integrate this with the science curriculum. Students then learn about planting into a garden and what weather is needed for successfully growing vegetables
What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
Teachers were reluctant at first, but have now embraced our "planting of the green". Some will teach out at the garden for a peaceful environment.
