Access to Healthy Foods, Student Leadership, Teamwork
Thanks to our FUTP 60 community grant, our FUTP 60 student leaders and Advisors teamed up with the district's culinary expert to serve up a healthy and unique treat during lunch time. We incorporated dairy products with fresh fruits and produce to create a healthy yogurt dessert. All students and staff in the building were offered a chance to taste test it during our lunch time. Our FUTP 60 leaders were present to serve the dessert.
How did students and adults work together as a team?
Our FUTP 60 student leaders and Advisors teamed up with our district nutritionist/cook to develop a healthy diary/fruit recipe that students can also make at home. We also shared this recipe with families.
