Students at Central Elementary utilized the In-Class Physical Activity Break play in order to achieve the goal set forth by Fuel Up To Play 60. The challenge consists of each teacher attempting to acquire the most body-weight squats for her class for the chance to win a $50 gift card. Each classroom teacher and all of her students competed against other classes using limited spaces in time to attempt to get the highest number of total student squats within one month's time. The teacher in the photo above had a class that acquired 9,841 total squats within one month which made her the winning teacher. The teacher won a gift card and the winning class received a field trip to Purina Farms.
How did students and adults work together as a team?
The teacher used small amounts of time within a school day (bathroom breaks, transition times within core subjects, recess time, lunch time) in order to achieve the most amount of squats within one month.
