Science Fair Smoothie Bike Station
We put our new smoothie bike to use by bringing it out for our science night. We had students, family members and staff give the bike a spin. They were able to use their own energy to prepare the smoothies. We made a smoothie that we saw on a FUTP 60 Facebook post. It had oats, milk, blueberries, agave, dates and dark chocolate powder. As science fair visitors stopped by the booth, they were able to try out the bike and the sample of the smoothie.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Staff helped get the items prepared. I worked with the food service department to get the ingredients. A food service member from our district delivered the items to our school. Students, parents and staff took turns preparing the shakes by giving the bike a try.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We are already planning another smoothie station for next week. We are going to highlight breakfast week by offering smoothies during breakfast. We will be using our smoothie bike, of course.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We accomplished our goal by using an idea we learned about from the FUTP 60 Facebook. Several chapters and the advisor group have some amazing ideas. I brought those ideas to a SHAC (student health advisory committee) meeting where we decided of one to highlight during science night.
