Students in third and fourth classes have the opportunity to receive a reimbursable breakfast at no cost in their classroom.
How did you accomplish your goals?
Providing a second chance breakfast for all second and third graders at CES. Met with all of the second and third grade teachers to discuss benefit of eating breakfast and the simplicity of how it would operate. Teachers was given the opportunity to help select a reimbursable menu that they felt would work in their time span and in their classroom. The teamwork apporach worked great because they also had a say in what was being served and how it would be served.
What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
How the meals would be delivered to so many classroom in such a quick time. To accomplish this, the staff prepare the meals in coolers and teachers assigned student leaders of the day which would come and pick up the coolers. It was a team effort.
