Community Education is currently collaborating with Primary Academy every Thursday to provide Shake It Up Thursday. The students in Primary Academy spend 45 minutes on Thursdays shaking, moving, dancing, and feeling their heartbeats accelerate.

How did you accomplish your goals?

Through team planning with Community Education and the Primary Academy teachers, we collaborated to meet both student needs and health wellness standards.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

Community Education will be bringing in outside stakeholders that have a vested interest in the students to show the students forms of exercise and movement.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

As always with education, time is a valuable asset in the classroom. The goal is to create more movement in the classroom without using much classroom instructional time.
