Students at Los Ninos had a wonderful time trying different types of healthy shakes with our secret ingredient. Students were excited to taste a variety of shakes not knowing until the next day that the secret ingredient was spinach. Students were very surprised and eager to tell their parents to start making these types of shakes for breakfast. At the same time, students participated in a friendly competition of flag football while being able to enjoy ice cold beverages courtesy of our 10 gallon water jug.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We here at Los Ninos know how difficult it can be to plan things during recess and lunch. Most teachers are either teaching and monitors are busy doing their jobs. Some how some way we always find creative ways to get kids motivated to try new things like our healthy shakes and to come together as the community that we are and participate in organized activities during lunch and recess. Having a great staff that cares about the students is a BIG plus at our school

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students and parents worked together to create these healthy shakes and help pass them out during all school lunches. It takes time and effort to collaborate but at the end it pays off to see the students smile and enjoy healthy snacks.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We accomplished our goals by working as team and building a community. Students here at Los Ninos at very eager to help with being active and eating healthy. These students pride themselves at being great at sports while playing by the rules and showing great sportsmanship.
