Skyline Pokemon Go!

Jessica Kempcke,   Skyline Elementary School

We hid little figures and random items around our playground area and then put a list of items to find. For an added challenge, we told student that they could make a rule of only finding them in order before going on to the next item. We put out 5 items and challenged students to find them before their recess was up or to find one each day. This was really cool, because we could do this after school too and make teams up to find them. We mixed the order up of the items and we also moved where the items were hidden each week.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

We communicated to be sure that we were on the same team. Our teacher put out notes next to her door to give us new messages and let us know when our meeting times were or different challenges we could do!

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

We just had to make sure that we remembered to put out the items and remind the school not to move them.

How did you accomplish your goals?

The kids really liked the game and gave them something new and exciting to do as a spin off of the game.
