We took a week to focus on the importance of sleep. Students all received a tracking sheet to track their sleep for one week, including a weekend, to see how much sleep they got. We had announcements each day from our student wellness team and health lessons in PE class on sleep. We ended the week with a school wide pajama day! We had about 200 students complete the sleep tracking form.
How did students and adults work together as a team?
The adult wellness team discussed the need for education on the importance of sleep and how much sleep children needed. With kids so busy these days, they come to school tired. Our student wellness team did the research on facts about sleep and did the daily announcements at our school-wide assemblies.
