Our students have been building a foundation of learning to read and understand labels on food. They have concluded that items with few ingredients and less sugar are more likely to be better. They have also enjoyed learning that by picking a whole food snack with one ingredient can typically be a great option. As a result we have had more participation in our efforts to snack smarter with the help of Fuel Up to Play 60.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

The biggest challenge we face is getting parents to choose healthy options over conveniently packaged "treats"
