Smoothie Day with the Blender Bike
Our students wanted to implement a smoothie option in the cafeteria for a "smarter snack", so we chose two flavors to make from yogurt, frozen fruit, and milk; mixed berry and mango. The FUTP 60 Ambassadors along with our cafeteria staff and representatives from University of Arizona nutrition program worked hard at providing the smoothies to everyone during all school lunch periods! university representatives also brought in a blender bike so the students could get some fun exercise in while making our smoothies! The smoothies were a big success with all students and definitely a healthy dairy option!

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Our nutrition staff and the U Of A collaborated to make this work - with U of A providing the blender bike, nutrition ordering our food supplies and making up the smoothies, and our leaders coordinating dates and communicating it community-wide. Our Ambassadors came up with the smoothie flavors, and also helped put everything together the day of the event, and acted as servers for the students!
