We are working on Snack Talk Time, where students are talking about their snacks and describing them using sweet, salty or healthy. Our goal is to have a variety of snacks in our snack discussions and what makes each item sweet, salty or healthy. Having students talk about what they are eating helps them make good choices and be aware of what helps fuel their bodies.
How did you accomplish your goals?
We accomplished this goal by having more students be able to talk and share their snack and identify what category it would fit in: sweet, salty, or healthy. We also had them talk about how their snack choice would help them fuel their body. The snack time response sentence for each student is, "I have a (an) _____________ and it is _____________.
How did students and adults work together as a team?
Students and teachers worked together as a team to accomplish this goal by sharing and encouraging each other to bring a healthy snack to school. The teachers bring a healthy snack each day to remind and encourage the students to make healthy choices.
