We created our Walking Club a little late this year. We wanted to use the miles we walked to help us meet the Mooving Through Wisconsin Contest goal! Everyone came together, students and staff, to help us get over 1,000 miles in only 6 weeks! We had many fun ideas that helped motivate everyone to keep working on miles from buddy walks, classroom challenges, walking videos (on indoor recess days), and even snowshoeing! A fellow teacher came up with the idea, so we contacted a local program that rents snowshoes and made a day of it. Each class went out with their teacher and tried out snowshoeing. They absolutely loved something different and begged to do it again! It was definitely a highlight of our WalkingCclub AND helped us get lots of miles that day! And bonus; our school was one of the grand prize winners of the contest! I"d say that was a success! :)

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Everyone helped come up with ideas to motivate our Walking Club and worked together to make it happen!
