Souper Friday for Growing Oaks!

To celebrate our 2015-2016 Kickoff at Oak Hill Elementary, we had our 4th Annual "Soup-er Friday" food drive. Students wore shirts from their favorite teams and also brought cans of soup to donate to our Growing Oaks Food Program, which provides food for needy families in our community. 1556 cans of soup were collected, with Miss L's second grade class collecting 212 and winning a pizza party. The students and staff enjoyed the day and helping the community.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We accomplished our goal by including our students in the planning of the event, along with members of the community. We used social media as well as handouts to promote it. Everyone worked together to collect a large donation to this great charity.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students and adults worked together in advertising, as well as deciding how to conduct the food drive and get students motivated to participate.
