Staying Active at Callanan Middle School

Students formed exercise and fitness groups for after school activities. Students rotate groups and challenge each other to complete certain activities and compete with each other. During the course of the school year we switch up activities with small groups and also as individuals.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

We got together and brainstormed what activities would be beneficial to our group's health and wellness. After we came up with our list, we selected certain activities that would challenge the students.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We meet twice a week for "60" minutes and participate in physical activities.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Students are getting more competent with the activities and the encouragement has grown with the students. We have students learning to leading and understand the reason to live a healthy life style.
