Physical Activity Participation

Our school teamed up with a few other schools in the area to coordinate this fun, color-filled 5K run. We had a lot of support from our PTO and this activity included grades K-6. Participants were sprayed with color at different points in the run. At the end of the run, chocolate milk was awarded to each participant. This was a fun way to get the children excited about physical activity! We look forward to implementing new ideas, but this was definitely effective in gaining much participation.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Parents and students worked together in setting up the 5k. Markers and color stations were set up with the help of all involved. Students worked together throughout the run, encouraging each other to finish the run while having fun.
