Our students chose to participate in the 100 Mile Club Play this year. It has been surprising and gratifying to see the level of commitment our students have shown in making sure they achieve this goal. A couple of weeks back our school took part in a district-wide run. We had 52 students sign up for the run. On the morning of the run, it was freezing cold and pouring rain, so we did not expect a big turn out because of the terrible weather conditions. As coaches we were very proud to see the level of commitment and dedication from our students, despite the weather, we had 45 out of 52 students show up. Not only did all of our students complete the walk/run, but the majority of them encouraged and were able to talk their parents into running with them. Fuel Up to Play 60 has inspired our students to not only get themselves walking daily but to encourage their parents and other families to become more active as well.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The students and adults encouraged one another to keep going and earn their miles despite ugly weather conditions.
