We got a late start at our school with Fuel Up to Play 60 and I take the blame for that. Being a new Program Advisor, I wasn't exactly sure how to get started. I introduced my students to the FUTP 60 site and they all joined. The rest is history! They were hooked once they started completing mini lessons and challenges. They were excited to work with others to complete challenges. Having them come up to me to ask if they can make posters to hang in our school or make a video to have aired on our morning news at school, is rewarding. They continue to strive for excellence with points and come up with new ideas. We currently have eight Student Abassadors just in fourth grade. Each of them has a goal to inform others of the importance of eating healthy and joining the FUTP 60 website. We have a lot to learn from these students and I can't wait to hear about all of the exciting things they come up with. I now know what is involved with the FUTP 60 program and I'm looking forward to getting my entire school to join in to help spread the word!
How did students and adults work together as a team?
I introduced Fuel Up to Play 60 to each of my classes. Once they signed in, completed mini lessons and challenges, they were hooked. They're excited to help spread the word to more students and adults in our school about joining the website and eating healthy. Students went home and got their parents and families involved as well. I love hearing their stories about their experiences at home. They are excited to continue spreading the word. We're hoping to get more grade levels involved next year.
