The Student Leadership Team at Coleman Elementary stood out among their peers to help the students and community enjoy "Math Night" in a new, active way. They and the Healthy Kids Club were asked to lead some more active games for the family evening this year. The math teacher mentioned that the interest was higher than in previous years, and students were proud of their performance in the activities. It was a great show of unity by the Student Leadership Team, and the school showed that it is taking steps to improve bodies and minds!

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Math Night has been a regular activity planned by the math teacher to bring in families for a fun evening of learning together. But this year she was happy to have the Student Leadership Team to get their peers excited about the event and help lead activities that she and other teachers had planned. They stayed after school and shared dinner with their advisor. The students were proud to wear their matching Fuel Up To Play 60 t-shirts- they truly were leaders this night and had a lot of fun!
