I am a coach at Meadowbrook Elementary and I am proud to be part of a school that encourages students to be physically active. Our campus has over 15 programs geared to motivate and encourage students to build positive relationships, focus on their health and wellbeing, and understanding being physically active is fun. We have a folklorio group made up of 2nd grade through 5th grade, who participated in Veterans Day as well Domingo live. The numbers have increased since last year. We currently have a basketball team called "Meadowbrook Ballers" and I am pleased that this year we have more girls participating. We are currently participating in farm-to-school beds and our vegetables are coming along nicely.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Parents ensure their child attends every basketball practice.

How did you accomplish your goals?

I sent a parent letter out a week before the practice date. Spoke with parents and told them expectations of their child becoming part of the team.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

The improvement I have seen is the confidence each player has in their ability to play basketball and play with each other.
