Physical Activity Participation

We recently did a recruitment for 5th/6th grade students to take on the challenge of the 100 Mile Club. We had 30 students sign up and four adults signed up to help! Our goal was to get 20 students to take on the challenge! We begin our club next week after school! We are excited to get things "a walking," according to a student.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We plan to make this a regular club for the students in grades 5/6 and hope to get more grades involved.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We promoted the 100 Mile Club at our 5th-8th grade middle school assembly through a skit. FUTP 60 kids did a showing of success and accomplishments along the path of 100 miles. Kids acted out each mile marker and pumping up kids to be successful.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

Our weather during the winter months and keeping kids involved.
