A group of students associated with Central Elementary/Fuel Up to Play 60 Team, took a walking field trip to a local fitness center named BKM Fitness center. The group of students participated with other community members by doing a high intensity 60 minute workout session. The students had the opportunity to engage with community members outside of the school and unite to work for a common goal.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

I plan to partner with the fitness center owner in order to make monthly walking field trips a normal occurrence. Students associated with FUTP 60 will be able to meet the fitness owner and the community members who frequent the facility. They will also get to know the adult patrons in their community and see a local business thrive as it relates to healthy lifestyles and physical activity.
