Students Promote "Tasting of the Rainbow"

The first Friday of every month, Rolling Knolls Elementary School in Annapolis, MD, has a "Tasting of the Rainbow" event. The FUTP 60 club creates posters and makes announcements to help increase excitement and promote the event.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Parents and teachers provided the material used to create and hang the posters. The students used the material and used their creativity to make the posters to promote the event.

How did you accomplish your goals?

The FUTP 60 club hung the posters around the school in well-traveled areas. The FUTP 60 club also made announcements the week of the event to spread the word.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

We have seen an increase in education about the importance of trying new vegetables and fruit. Not to judge something by its looks. We call this "The Green Eggs and Ham" effect from the Dr. Suess story.
