Students Create Their Own Recess Game

During our Play, students created their own recess games for the school to play. They worked as a team to create the rules and equipment needed for the game. When finished, they explained and demonstrated the activity for the rest of the school. Students assisted others during the activities and created their own original indoor and outdoor recess games

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students created a blue print of their game and presented the rules. I provided any equipment needed for their recess game.

How did you accomplish your goals?

The students and I met several times to go over the game and for them to practice how they would be explaining it to the rest of the school. After several practices with me and the students, the students led their peers in explaining and demonstrating the game.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

By taking part in the play, I have seen the students become leaders and very creative. Also, the students have shown a greater interest in physical activity by creating something of their own.
