The students at Austin MS have formed their own Walking Club, led by FUTP 60 Ambassador Jaime Lopez. The students have pledged to walk at least one mile throughout the day. Jaime took the lead in presenting to the students all the benefits of walking and staying active. Way to go Jaime and Go Bruins!

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Jaime came to us and let us know he wanted to do something to get the kids more active. We came up with having the kids form their own walking club.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Kids are more active and better behaved in the classroom. We do believe this extra physical activity has impacted that as well.

How did you accomplish your goals?

The kids policed themselves and motivated themselves. I do foresee this club and activity continuing
