Students enrolled in Honors and AP Environmental Science spent the last month learning about soil quality and agriculture in class. When we return from break, these students will share what they learned with their peers during lunch. While learning about agriculture, students conducted physical and chemical soil quality tests, including testing for water holding capacity, soil texture, cation exchange capacity, pH level, nitrogen levels, phosphorus levels, and potassium levels.

How did you accomplish your goals?

I wanted to extend our Farm to School Play into the content area of my classroom. I introduced the soil unit with a focus on agriculture and where and how our food is raised.
