K-SHAC leaders are actively leading brain breaks in their classrooms. When a classroom teacher feels that the class could benefit from a break, then a student leader will get up and lead them in a 30 sec exercise. This has proven to be a great success in the classroom in assisting with not only health and wellness, but in academics and behavioral issues as well.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Teachers know who the KSHAC leaders are and they know they can count on them for these types of breaks.

How did you accomplish your goals?

I reached out to the teachers during a faculty meeting, explained the benefits of brain breaks and identified who the KSHAC leaders are that can lead those exercises.
