We had our best Kickoff to date this year with an "Are you More Athletic than a 5th Grader?" contest with the entire school present. Students and staff were highly motivated and showed good sportsmanship throughout, competing with staff members. We played 12 games such as toss the football in the trash can, toss bean bags into the hula hoop, balance a beach ball between 2 teammates' heads and walk a short distance. It got students and staff excited about Fuel Up to Play 60 and thinking about fun ways to incorporate physical activity into their daily routine.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

Our toughest challenge was the student sportsmanship. Sometimes students feel as thought they should win simply because they are kids and younger. This event showed our students that through perseverance, age and size did not matter. Working together mattered most.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Our students helped to set up and take down the event. They are looking forward to next year.
