In October, at the peak of the crop, SPE cafeteria served an assortment of fresh apples along with apples as ingredients. On this particular day the students got to experience fresh whole Gala Apples and a homemade whole grain apple quick bread for lunch. Throughout the week the students were able to taste warm apple cider, apple muffins, apples and sweet potatoes and apples and yogurt dip. Signage was posted to let the students know what orchards the apples came from each day.
How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?
We will continue to work with our produce supplier to obtain local produce when it is in season. We will also continue to conduct taste testing.
