Access to Healthy Foods

Every Friday since the beginning of this school year, students in my class are taught about healthy food choices and then we spend time following recipes and creating a healthy snack. Some of the snacks we have made this year include cherry pineapple smoothies, warm banana roll-ups, crunchy cereal trail mix, and no-bake blueberry energy roll-ups!

How did students and adults work together as a team?

We learned about healthy food choices and then spent time together following recipes and sampling the final product!

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

A challenge we faced was purchasing the ingredients for all of the recipes. How we overcame this was by contacting our PTA and receiving the funds from them to purchase what we needed!
