At Ridgemont, students recognized that their community does not have many entertainment opportunities for youth. They decided to plan an event for students in grades 7-12 called the Sweetheart Spectacular. This event allowed students to spend an evening filled with dancing, a 3 on 3 basketball tournament, games, and healthy snacks. 80 students participated in the evening's events!

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students reached out to community members to plan events, serve as referees and concession stand workers, and chaperone the event. This taught students the importance of networking. As a result of these partnerships, the Sweetheart Spectacular was a success!
