Access to Healthy Foods

Parchment MS used a new smoothie bike to show the students how easy it is to make fresh smoothies with just a few pedals on the bike. We taste tested blenderless smoothies to receive feedback on new breakfast choices. Both were a hit with students and the smoothies will be added to the breakfast menu in the very near future.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

We had to come up with a way for every student to be able to try the blenderless smoothies and have a run at the smoothie bike. The two groups came up with a raffle (from signing the pledge board) to select students to ride the smoothie bike. It was a great success!

How did you accomplish your goals?

Instant feedback told us the students loved the smoothies and wanted them for breakfast. We look forward to having our breakfast productivity increasing and healthy middle school bodies by eating breakfast.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Students are excited about getting on board with the whole Fuel Up commitment. They love having an upcoming event, especially to break up their day.
