Tasting New Fruits and Vegetables
SLT brainstormed new fruits and veggies to try and selected one of each for students to try.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

We're seeing more students selecting items off the salad bar. Kids are finding new things that they like. The SLT has been modeling this behavior of trying new foods and Student Council has been identifying ways to communicate desired changes.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

By keep trying to get new items on the cart and keep encouraging students to try new food items. The student council did a 2nd student survey to identify new foods for the fruit/veg cart. Their results were similar: 2/3 of kids liked sweet peppers, 3/4 liked plums and pickles were also a favorite. Together they are trying to communicate these wishes to admin, staff and FSD.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students came up with food items and lists for adults to use in surveys. Adults coordinated the events, but SLT and Student Council helped administer surveys, model behavior, tally scores and verify results. These efforts will continue next year.
