Honor Intermediate School is tasting the rainbow. The Fuel Up to Play 60 Team has organized a list of foods for students to try at our taste test sampling times at lunch. Each week, the team has a new food for the students to try. They are working their way through the rainbow, starting with blood oranges (red). It has been a huge success!

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The students not only had to work with me as their advisor but also with the school's nutritionist, principal and staff that is on duty at the time of the taste testings.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

The students are taste testing a new food once a week. We are hoping the students enjoy the foods they are trying and continue to eat these nutritious foods.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

I have many students that are very picky eaters and skeptical about trying the new foods; however, they have tried the various foods. The students have enjoyed the foods so much they kept coming back for "just one more sample". Blood oranges are a favorite.
