Access to Healthy Foods, Community Involvement, Student Leadership, Teamwork
Each Tuesday for 6 weeks, Ashley Elementary students and staff were invited to wear a specific color and bring/buy a healthy food of the same color. Our Fuel Up to Play 60 Crew promoted "Tasty Tuesdays" by making and hanging posters around the school, and visiting grade levels at lunch to remind them of the color of the week. Each Tuesday they took pictures of students with healthy snacks or lunches, which we posted to social media for our community to see. The kids LOVED having their picture taken and trying to come up with unique foods for each color.
