This year, we were able to get more people involved in helping our students with healthy eating and being more active. In conjuction with CATCH, we were able to get staff members and parents involved. During an open house event, we set up a booth with healthy fruits and snacks. The parents would walk by and grab a snack. It was then that we explained the importance of healthy eating and what it means for kids, and especially parents, to more active. We noticed that more kids were coming back to school saying that their parents were taking them to go on brisk walks or even to the park for awhile. Cafeteria workers also stressed the importance, even having their bulletin boards decorated with healthy snacks. All in all, it was a great job by staff members and parents working together!
