Teamwork Makes the Dream Work at Santos Livas
At Santos Livas, we have kicked off our very own Lion’s Running Club. Students kinder-5th grade are involved in this after school program and run 2 miles every Wednesday. The students are motivated to live a healthy, active lifestyle not only in school, but outside of school. They encourage one another to show up to practice and get their miles in. Every Thursday, the Lion’s Running Club wears their team shirt to school to represent what they love to do. They spread the word of joining next year and share their race day stories. At Santos Livas Elementary, I can see a passion for being active and motivation to strive for life long health.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

I have seen great improvement in participation at Santos Livas Elementary from the students and the staff. I have noticed in PE that the Running Club students have taken leadership roles in the activities and getting each student to participate. After school, I have noticed more teachers joining in on our runs to stay active.
