Tell the FUTP 60 Granville Middle School Activities to the Ohio Legislature

The Granville Middle School Family, Career and Community Leaders of America made a display about the school service activities that we have done with FUTP 60 and presented this at the Ohio Career Tech Student Showcase for Ohio Senators and Representatives on March 9, 2017.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The GMS FCCLA applied to go to the Ohio Career Tech Student Showcase to meet with Ohio Legislators to showcase our service learning activities and FUPT 60 is part of the service learning we do for our middle and elementary school.

How did you accomplish your goals?

With the display of pictures of FUTP 60 service activities like nutritious food demonstrations, Granville Elem garden, food demonstrations for GES using their garden produce with tastings, NFL Flag Football, lunch time activity period with PE teachers, Marathon Kids, GMS/GHS Walking Club, 3 National Breakfast Grab and Go ideas demonstrated and tasted, and rewards for the activity groups.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

We informed the Ohio Senators and Representatives about how FUTP 60 has helped improve the nutrition and physical activities for high school, middle school and elementary school through Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America activities. The senators and representative were impressed with the activities showcased by Paige Huck and Abby Knobeloch at this event.
