Students and staff have been hard at work creating and planting our Healthy Choices Garden. Students along with staff, parents and community members have planted lettuce, beans, collard greens, peas, squash, tomato, kale and a variety of herbs. The students formed a garden club, which meets once a week. They water, weed, and maintain the plants. The students sample fresh vegetables and herbs. Students are learning both aquaponic and soil gardening. Two local farmers have come to offer support and volunteer at the school. The Kickoff celebration was a great success. The student Ambassador explained Fuel Up to Play 60 to the student body. The student leaders organized jump rope centers and gave out stickers. Everyone is very excited to have this program at our school.
