This year one of our projects was to have a "Milk Drive" and donate to our local food bank! We were able to donate $200.00 to our local food bank for the purpose of purchasing milk for those in need. We wanted to express our thanks to the Dairy Farmers of Washington who take such great care of their cows and produce nutritious dairy products for all of to consume. We also wanted to express our condolence to those that lost between 1,600 and 1,800 cows during the harsh winter that our state experienced.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

My Student Ambassadors and I worked to come up with a plan to have a "Milk Drive". We chose this as a focus to "Fight Hunger" because milk is not readily available at most food banks. We collected money and had a "miracle minute" where students in our building donated money for one minute at a designated time. We delivered a check to the food bank and were featured in our local newspaper.

How did you accomplish your goals?

By identifying the problem of milk as a major problem of food insecurity and working together to find a solution!

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We will continue to have a Milk Drive at our school at an annual basis.
