The Cheesiest Hatchet

Through the help of Fuel Up to Play 60, The Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board and our local cheese store we had a combination cheese tasting and trivia contest. The winners were awarded trophies for being the Cheesiest Hatchet. This took place before and during our high school homecoming game. Our mascot is the Hatchet. A ton of kids, parents and community members played along and it was a lot of fun.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

We don't have a lot of students on our Fuel Up to Play 60 team. Through the kickoff kids saw how much fun we were having and we hope more will get involved.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The Fuel Up to Play 60 advisors had the members make lists of what each person had to do. They then checked in with the advisors periodically throughout the week before the event. Everyone showed up early and stayed late to help.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We plan on having more taste tasting events and to continue our Open Gym program before school. This will encourage students to eat healthy and stay active.
