Parents and community members met and painted the playground at Shields Elementary using the Jump and Move stencil set. A total of 15 parents and youth met and painted on a morning and into the afternoon to improve the outdoor physical activity options at Shields Elementary. Together, the community, parents and students provided youth with endless opportunities to move, jump and play!

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Together the students and adults planned out where the painting images would go and painted together!

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

The paint will last for years to come!

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Students are engaged in physical activity instead of just standing around during recess. Some teachers even use the stencils are classroom breaks!
